چکیده

Integrating atomic quantum memories based on color centers in diamond with on-chip photonic devices would enable entanglement distribution over long distances. However, efforts towards integration have been challenging because can be highly sensitive to their environment, and properties degrade nanofabricated structures. Here, we describe a heterogeneously integrated, on-chip, III-V platform designed for neutral silicon vacancy (SiV 0 ) that circumvents the need etching substrate. Through evanescent coupling SiV near surface of diamond, will Purcell enhancement emission efficient frequency conversion telecommunication C-band. The proposed structures realized readily available fabrication techniques.

Indistinguishable photons from separated silicon-vacancy centers in diamond.

We demonstrate that silicon-vacancy (SiV) centers in diamond can be used to efficiently generate coherent optical photons with excellent spectral properties. We show that these features are due to the inversion symmetry associated with SiV centers. The generation of indistinguishable single photons from separated emitters at 5 K is demonstrated in a Hong-Ou-Mandel interference experiment. Prosp...

Multiphoton-Excited Fluorescence of Silicon-Vacancy Color Centers in Diamond

Silicon-vacancy color centers in nanodiamonds are promising as fluorescent labels for biological applications, with a narrow, nonbleaching emission line at 738 nm. Two-photon excitation of this fluorescence offers the possibility of low-background detection at significant tissue depth with high threedimensional spatial resolution. We measure the two-photon fluorescence cross section of a negati...

Hybrid Plasmonic Photonic Crystal Cavity for Enhancing Emission from near-Surface Nitrogen Vacancy Centers in Diamond

Optical cavities create regions of high field intensity, which can be used for selective spectral enhancement of emitters such as the nitrogen vacancy center (NV) in diamond. This report discusses a hybrid metal−diamond photonic crystal cavity, which provides greater localization of the electric field than dielectric cavities and mitigates metalrelated losses in existing plasmonic structures. W...

Germanium-Vacancy Single Color Centers in Diamond

Atomic-sized fluorescent defects in diamond are widely recognized as a promising solid state platform for quantum cryptography and quantum information processing. For these applications, single photon sources with a high intensity and reproducible fabrication methods are required. In this study, we report a novel color center in diamond, composed of a germanium (Ge) and a vacancy (V) and named ...

Hybrid Group IV Nanophotonic Structures Incorporating Diamond Silicon-Vacancy Color Centers.

We demonstrate a new approach for engineering group IV semiconductor-based quantum photonic structures containing negatively charged silicon-vacancy (SiV(-)) color centers in diamond as quantum emitters. Hybrid diamond-SiC structures are realized by combining the growth of nano- and microdiamonds on silicon carbide (3C or 4H polytype) substrates, with the subsequent use of these diamond crystal...
